A handful of questions came in after the kickoff. Here are the answers — useful even if you didn't ask one yourself.
"I've done the Shred before — do I keep my old tracker, Notion and check-ins?"
No — fresh start. Everyone gets a new tracker, new Notion, new check-in. The programme's been updated, so the admin side is starting clean. The habits you built last time will carry over — the paperwork is brand new.
"I'm a big social drinker — darts team, birthdays, gigs. Abstain or manage it through the eight weeks?"
Don't try to do half-and-half. That's what wrecks most lads. Two clean options:
- Option 1 — abstain for 8 weeks. Faster results, simpler, less mental load. The social calendar feels worse going in than it actually is — soft drinks still work. Lock the result in.
- Option 2 — plan the drinks in. Pick your non-negotiable nights (a specific birthday, a gig). Stay dry the rest. Hit your protein, water between drinks, stick to clear-spirit / low-mixer options.
My honest call: Option 1. Eight weeks is short. Get the result locked in. We'll build your long-term social-drinking plan in the post-Shred phase, when there's more room to play with.
"Any recommendations for pre-made meal preps if I haven't got time to cook?"

"I'm not allowed to wear a step counter at work — how do I track steps?"
Whatever your target is, it's not a religion. Two camps:
- Active job (on your feet, moving, lifting all shift) — you're almost certainly already hitting it. Don't sweat it.
- Mostly sat-down job — you'll need to top it up. A 20-30 minute walk most days will do it.
Workaround that catches most people out: your phone tracks steps too — if it's in your pocket, you're recording. No watch needed.
